Buckhead park renamed for business leader

A longtime Atlanta business leader is being honored with a park named for him.
The Atlanta City Council voted unanimously Monday to change the name of the Buckhead Triangle Park to Charlie Loudermilk Park in honor of the former board chairman and CEO of Aaron Rents Inc. (NYSE: RNT).
Loudermilk, 81, has filled leadership roles in several prominent Buckhead-based businesses and business organizations, including the Buckhead Coalition, the Buckhead Club and the Buckhead Community Bank.
Outside of the neighborhood, he helped bring the Olympics to Atlanta in 1996 as a member of the Corporation for Olympic Development’s board. He also has been active with the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Lovett School in Atlanta and the Piedmont Hospital Foundation Board.
The triangular park in Buckhead marks the point where Roswell Road splits from Peachtreee Road.
