Micros combines subsidiaries

Micros Systems Inc. said Monday it has created Micros-Retail, a new division that will combine together three existing subsidiary companies.
By combining the subsidiaries, Datavantage, CommercialWare and eOne Group, Micros-Retail hopes to provide customers with a single source of technology infrastructure services.
Micros-Retail products are installed in more than 20,000 stores in 10 countries and processes more than 10 million consumer transactions annually, according to the company. The division serves more than 500 brands and retailers, including Beltsville-based Ritz Camera and Hampstead-based Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc. (NASDAQ: JOSB)
The new division will be led by Managing Director John Gularson, Chief Operating Officer Chaz Napoli and Chief Technology Officer Jane Cannon.
Micros' point-of-sale systems handle customer transactions and tie into databases to help companies monitor their inventory.
Columbia-based Micros (NASDAQ: MCRS) is a provider of information technology for the hospitality and retail industries.
