Denver Business Journal

Emergency Medical Services Corp.'s American Medical Response Inc. subsidiary entered into a five-year, national transportation agreement with Aetna Health Management LCC, the companies announced Wednesday.

Under the agreement, AMR will be the exclusive provider of non-emergency transportation management services for Aetna's new senior product, Golden Age.

The relationship is expected to generate $20 million in annual revenue for AMR.

Service will be offered first in the mid-Atlantic region, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. before expanding nationwide before the end of the year.

Emergency Medical Services (NYSE: EMS) and AMR are based in Greenwood Village. AMR operates ambulance services in more than 250 communities in 36 states and the District of Columbia.

It employs 18,500 paramedics and emergency medical technicians, and operates a fleet of approximately 4,500 vehicles.
